wear blue:

run to remember

Lisa Hallett, CEO

Lisa Hallett is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of wear blue: run to remember.  On August 25, 2009, Lisa’s husband, CPT John Hallett, was killed when his Stryker was attacked with an improvised explosive device in southern Afghanistan.  Surviving the loss of her husband, best friend, and father of her three young children, Lisa turned to running.  An avid runner, she soon found a community that needed the same kind of support that running gave her.  Creating wear blue gave Lisa a healthy outlet for her grief and a path to move forward, and she’s committed to sharing that with others.  Lisa has an M.Ed.T. from University of Hawaii and a B.A. in English Literature from University of California- Santa Barbara.  She just completed her first ultra-marathon in July 2011, and recently set a full marathon PR of 3:51.  Lisa and her three young children reside in DuPont, WA.  They are moving forward and loving life, honoring John with every step.

Erin O’Connor, COO

Erin O’Connor is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of wear blue: run to remember.  An Army brat, Army spouse, and runner, creating wear blue was personal and natural.  Sharing her belief in running as a coping mechanism, she loves seeing wear blue grow and provide a support network to so many.  She holds an M.P.A. from Western Kentucky University and a B.A. in political science and communications from Virginia Tech.  A lifelong runner, Erin ran her first marathon in Rome, Italy while her husband, a career Army Infantry officer, was deployed to Iraq for the first time.  Many moves and deployments later, she has since completed seven marathons with a PR of 3:54.  Currently stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, Erin and her husband are raising their three children age 4 and under while continuing their Army adventure.

Tracey Boyle, Director of Marketing

Tracey Boyle is wear blue: run to remember’s Director of Marketing.  She graduated with a B.A. from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana in Communications and Marketing.  After working for 7 years as a Marketing and National Accounts Manager, she decided to stay home full time with her three children - and move three times in three years.  Tracey is married to an Army Blackhawk pilot and has spent the last 12 years as an Army wife.  Four years ago she decided running was a way to cope with the harsh realities and criticisms of Army life.  Four half marathons and two marathons later she is addicted to the adrenaline rush.  Her goal is to run the Marine Corps Marathon.  She and her husband joined wear blue: run to remember in February 2011, and knew immediately the group was filling a void in theirs and so many others’ lives.  Tracey currently lives in Lacey, Washington with her family.
